A commute by bike is a win-win-win situation! At Revive, we are always looking for ways to reduce our carbon footprint whilst improving our overall well-being. Matter of fact, you can click here to watch our founder and CEO, Tim Varney’s journey into the office.
By dusting off your bicycle and giving a pedal to work a go, you are steering towards healthier and happier travel. Let’s delve into Revive’s guide to a successful commute and explore the many advantages of trading your four wheels for two.
Your body will thank you
It’s essential to find creative ways to incorporate physical activity into your packed schedule. Unlike high-impact sports, biking is gentle on your precious joints. It engages your whole body (from head to toe), whilst lowering your blood pressure and giving your metabolism a boost… it’s a miracle!
Healthier and happier
Travelling on two wheels is remarkably therapeutic. It is a fabulous way to de-stress, clear your mind and spend some time in the great outdoors, leaving you feeling re-energised, focused and ready for anything.
Protect our planet
Traffic is one of the main contributors to air pollution. The simple solution to reduce your carbon footprint and avoid those irksome traffic jams is giving your car the day off. You can whiz past the traffic easily on a bike.
Watch the pennies
Looking for a way to save your pennies? Look no further! Forget petrol and paying for parking. A bike lock is all you’ll need.
Top tip #1
A well-fitting cycling helmet is worth its weight in gold and is a non-negotiable for safe travels. All the cool kids are using lights and reflectors when cycling in low visibility or at night and so should you.
Top tip #2
Regularly check the tyre pressure, brakes and gears on your bike to avoid.
Top tip #3
Signal your intentions, always abide by the rules of the road and look, and then look again. Plan your route to work taking advantage of handy cycling lanes. Take an efficient course but never compromise on safety, especially if you aren’t an avid biker yet.
Try it yourself and let us know what you think – we would love to hear all about your journey to work. Safe travels!
