February 26th marks the start of the 2018 Fairtrade Fortnight. Businesses, schools and campaigners are showing their support for farmers and workers who grow food in developing countries.
There are over 1.65 million farmers and workers in fair-trade certified producer organisations.
It's a sad fact that millions of farmers and workers are still being ripped off despite working hard to provide the products we use every-day. They are fighting for a fair deal, supported by fairtrade, earning their way out of poverty and transforming their communities.
This year's theme is 'come on in to fairtrade' and they want to encourage more people to join the fairtrade movement. A simple way to make a difference to the lives of the people who grow the things we love. This is done by changing the way trade works through better prices, decent working conditions and a fair deal for farmers and workers in developing companies.
We use fair-trade certified coffee beans, tea and hot chocolate for our machines, our way of contributing to the Fairtrade movement.
Don't forget you can also buy fair-trade yourself - there are over 4,500 products to choose from on the Fairtrade online shop, also in Sainsbury's, Waitrose and Tesco. Don't forget, it's not just supermarket produce, beauty items can be fair-trade as well, you can find these at Bodyshop andLush.
